The Best Golf Courses Near Faro
San Lorenzo Golf Course
The San Lorenzo Golf Course is located on the Quinta do Lago estate, where it takes full advantage of the amazing topography, winding its way over ripples of pine woodland. This course is another golf course near Quinta do Lago which was designed by American golf architect Joseph Lee. The design and the use of Bermuda grass fairways provide golfers with the perfect playing conditions. Rather uniquely, the San Lorenzo Golf Course makes a figure 8 position. Laranjal Golf Course
Opened in 2009, the course was voted the best in the Portuguese Travel Awards in 2011. The 18 hole course is about 6500 meters long and has amazing lakes and tree cover making it challenging even for experienced golfers. Clube de Golfe da Quinta do Lago
Located in the Algarve, Clube de Golfe da Quinta do Lago allows you access to two of the best courses near Quinta do Lago. Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course
First opened in 1985 and redesigned by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1976 this 18 hole course near Vilamoura in the Algarve stretches out over nearly 6500 meters. The course itself has plenty of pine trees dotted along the fairways and near the greens, this leads it to be challenging even for some of the most experienced golfers who have said that you must use your tactics wisely to navigate this course properly.
Ocean Golf Course Vale Do Lobo
Opened in 1985, the 18 hole course designed by Sir Henry Cotton stretches out just over 6000 meters and features some of the best views in the entire Algarve. The course itself runs parallel to the sea and is quite literally “a golf course on the beach”. You can enjoy the fresh ocean breeze along with Portugal’s stunning year round sunshine for a relaxing golfing experience.
