Bergamo Golf Club L’Albenza
The original 18-hole course at Bergamo Golf Club L’Albenza was designed by CK Cotton in the early 1960s, with an additional 9-hole loop being added in 1987. Located in the Orobic hills, the club is a 27-hole complex which gives players the opportunity to experience three different 18-hole courses. Laid over hilly wooded terrain, L’Albenza has been host to many international tournaments including the Italian Open in 1996 and will test even the most experienced of players.
Circolo Golf Venezia
Opened in 1930, Circolo Golf Venezia is the oldest club in the region. One of the most prestigious clubs in Italy, the first 25 members of the club belonged to the noble families of the Venetian aristocracy. Located on a strip of land between the Adriatic Sea and the Lagoon of Venice, Circolo Golf Venezia measures 6199 metres from the championship tees. Originally a 9-hole course, it was enlarged to 18 holes in 1951 and is a unique blend of both parkland and links courses. Featuring tree-lined fairways on sandy soil, players must conquer the bora and sirocco winds if they are to score well.
Franciacorta Golf Club
Measuring 6,143 metres from the back markers, the Franciacorta Golf Club is a 27-hole golf facility which offers world-class golf. Designed by Pete Dye in collaboration with Marco Croze, the Bruit and Saten nines form the championship par-73 18-hole layout. Whilst the Brut requires considerable power, the Saten path encourages players to think about their approach. The Rose route is the most recent addition to the Franciacorta club and features undulating fairways and large greens which disguise any elevation changes.
Golf Club Padova
Previously known as Golf Club Euganeo, the Golf Club Padova lie within the stunning Euganean Hills Regional Park. Originally designed by Commander John Harris in the early 1960s, Marco Croze constructed a further Rosso nine when more land became available in the 1990s. The course is laid on mostly flat land, with numerous water hazards obstructing play on the Blu circuit. As a result of the tree-lined fairways, some holes are narrow off the tee, requiring strategic thinking and accuracy from players.
Golf Club Udine
Designed by Marco Croze, the original 9-hole course at Golf Club Udine was opened in 1972, with a further 9 being constructed in 1994. Recently announced as a European Tour Destination, the course lies within the foothills of the Carnic Alps in Fagagna. Lined with ancient oak, wild cherry and alder trees, the course follows the contour of the foothills, providing spectacular views of the area. Catering to all abilities, the club offers 3 different fitness trails across its sprawling 7,000 metres.
