The Open at Real Club de Golf El Prat
Previously known as the Barcelona Golf Club, the Real Club de Golf El Prat changed its name when it moved to new facilities in El Prat de Llobregat in 1954. Now located on the BonVilar estate beside the Sant Llorenc del Munt I I’Obac Natural Park, the course features two 18-hole layouts as well as a 9-hole practice course. Measuring 7,300 yards from the back tee, The Open has wide tree-lined fairways and bold bunkering to challenge even the most experienced golfer.
The Blue Course at Real Club de Golf El Prat
Located at the prestigious Real Club de Golf El Prat, ‘The Blue’ is known as one of the top golf clubs in Spain. Like ‘The Open’, this course is also designed by Greg Norman, with dramatic bunkering threatening play. However, unlike its sister course, ‘The Blue’ is much more open than ‘The Open’, with the tall pine trees only featuring on a handful of holes. Despite this, players are advised to focus on precision rather than hard hits as many of the holes can be unforgiving.
The Tour at PGA Catalunya
The second of two 18-hole championship courses at the PGA Catalunya Resort, The Tour Courses offers a slightly less intimidating option in comparison to The Stadium. Although the course is shorter and more open, Angel Gallardo and Neil Coles technical design ensures that players are tested at every hole. Featuring pine-lined wide fairways, strategically placed bunkers and frequent water hazards, players must approach this course strategically.
Club de Golf Bonmont Terres Noves
Combining views of the Mediterranean Sea and the breath-taking Llaberia, Club de Golf Bonmont Terres Noves is situated in south-west Tarragona, a few miles inland from Miami Playa. Part of a residential complex, the course is routed through undulating terrain, featuring dramatic ravines in places. Designed by the iconic Robert Trent Jones Jnr in 1990, Bonmont is laid out in two sets of nine, with each set using the classic formation of two par threes, two par fives and five par fours. As typical of a Robert Trent Jones Jnr design, the course features over 90 bunkers, all strategically placed to test even the most experienced golfer.
The Forest Course at Emporda Golf Resort
Located near the village of Gualta in the Costa Brava, Emporda Golf Club offers two 18-hole golf courses in a serene environment. Winding through an authentic Mediterranean pine forest, The Forest Course is a 72 par course that allows players to appreciate their natural surroundings whilst also enjoying top quality golf.
