Club de Campo del Mediterraneo
Designed by Ramon Espinosa in 1978, Club de Campo del Mediterraneo sits in a secluded valley, 6km away from the coast. The course features a wide variety of holes and hazards are a prominent feature. Encircled by a variety of trees such as olive pine and carob, a few are used as natural obstacles, tempting golfers to be daring with their tactics. Another temptation is in the form of the strategically placed fairways and greens, which are just visible enough to tease players.
Club de Golf El Bosque
Club de Golf El Bosque opened for play in 1975 after being designed by the iconic Robert Trent Jones. Located in a residential development on the foothills to the north of Chiva, this 6,900-yard, par 72 course has a traditional layout, with two par threes and two par fives on both loops. In addition to the tree-lined fairways, both water hazards and bunkers feature significantly. With several of the holes being doglegged, Club de Golf El Bosque is a great option for golfers looking to test their ability.
Club de Golf Escorpion
Host to the 1980 Spanish Open, Escorpion Golf Club has developed a reputation for being one of the leading golf clubs in the country, particularly in respect of its youth development programme. Consisting of three 9-hole circuits, known as the Masia, Lagos and Neuvo, and a par 3 development course, the club has superb facilities for any player looking for variety. Laid over gently undulating terrain, this tree-lined course has many memorable holes, making it perfect to visit on your golfing holiday to Spain.
La Galianna Campo de Golf
Located in a peaceful valley within a preserved Mediterranean forest, La Galianna Campo de Golf is a natural golfing paradise. Designed by Felipe Rodriguez in 2011, the secluded setting allows golfers to enjoy the experience without any distractions. With a par of 72, La Galianna stretches 6201 metres from the back tees and has been designed to blend into its environment as much as possible. Although water hazards come into play on numerous holes, the 4th is deemed to be the most difficult as the fairway disappears on one side.
Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort
The Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort is located directly on the beach between the Mediterranean towns of Gandia-Valencia and Denia-Alicante. Designed by Severiano Ballesteros, this 18-hole course opened in 1995, covering approximately 50 hectares. Stretching 6312m, the course features wide fairways and smooth greens with the gently undulating terrain. In respect of hazards, water comes in to play frequently, whilst the sea breeze is a silent threat to play.
